Micro turbines – 7.5 kW (Peak: 12.5 kWp)

Micro wind turbines offer a fully integrated wind energy solution designed to yield maximum energy at a given rotor diameter. Micro turbines offer several potential design advantages compared to alternative technologies for small-scale power generation, including:

• small number of moving parts,
• compact size,
• lightweight,
• Increased efficiency,
• lower emissions,
• lower electricity costs,

Performance is suitable for a variety of applications; providing electricity for individual properties delivering heating for hot water, power lights and electronic equipment – connected to the grid or remote locations, e.g., replacing a diesel generator (with suitable battery backup).

Micro-turbines may be installed either stand-alone or roof mounted as noise levels are low.

Advantages of Micro-turbine solutions:

• Easy transportation resulting from a modular design and small packing volume.
• Silent operation due to noise reduction using wooden elements and multi-leg design.
• Option to erect the turbine tower without a crane – via electrical or manual winch – particularly advantageous in remote locations.

In most cases, screw foundations are used, an environmentally friendly alternative to concrete foundations, requiring no soil movement and offering considerable water and material savings. If the installation site is predominantly rock formation, steel rods are drilled into the bedrock.
